Ponderings

I haven’t posted in a few days because, well, one day I was very tired, the next very busy, then tired, then busy, it is just a vicious cycle. I am still trying to get into the swing of my new schedule, this past Wednesday was spent recording with Shanon J for our Easter show airing tonight on KHVN Dallas/Ft Worth station, you can find it on the Tunein Radio app, so please listen.
I am currently sitting here watching It’s Complicated, I love this movie, I think Meryl Streep is just fantastic and pairing her with Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin is nothing short of genius. I think it says a lot about how complicated divorce is, and how it seriously affects the family when the man leaves the mother for another woman. Even into adulthood it showed how the children feel about it. It also shows how long the woman feels the after effects of the cheating. I don’t like the moment in the movie where Meryl Streeps’ character sleeps with her ex. I don’t think that is an accurate portrayal. I do not think there are a lot of wronged women having sex with their ex. I could be wrong about this, however, I don’t believe I am. I hope I am not wrong about this, why would you go back to someone who has done this? After you have moved on? Gotten a divorce, it’s been 10 years, and the other person is married to someone else. Who does this? It makes for good entertainment, but that is it, entertainment. I don’t believe people should do this in real life. I don’t believe people should cheat on each other, I find cheating abhorrent, I don’t believe God intended for man to do this. Oh wow, look it’s in the top 10, it’s a biggie folks, so if you are doing this, stop, now, immediately. Get on your knees and beg God’s forgiveness, fortunately you can do that, and He will forgive.
That’s it, must get ready, big, busy day today, going with Elizabeth Anne for an adventure, then off to see the Irishman lose his hair and beard.

A Good Weekend

Good Morning and happy Easter everyone, I also want to say happy Passover. This weekend has been a very full one, it started Thursday night with Tessa coming to spend a few days with her Gigi. Friday was a girl filled day, first up pink pancakes for breakfast, then a walk and playing on her beloved rocks. Elizabeth Anne came and we took Tess to our favorite place on earth, yes, Taco Bueno. Then it was off to Build a Bear where she picked out a rabbit and named her Daisy. No day is complete without a trip to Costco and Target!
Then that evening, the Irishman’s girls came and Tess was beyond elated, I let them stay up late playing chase in the moonlight, then eating goldfish crackers and watching Hop. Saturday morning started with blue pancakes and playing outside, the rocks beckoned and they played for hours. Their girlish giggles filled the air and neighbors brought their children out to play with them.
After Tess went home it was grocery shopping then lunch and Hop again, this time with movie popcorn and juice boxes.
I hope they had a good time, in between I managed to read two books and get laundry done. Very productive.
I have something shameful to admit, I have given into peer pressure and have read the first two books in the Hunger Games series. I should have bought the third at the grocery store yesterday, I started the first book on Friday and by Saturday night had finished the second one, now I am in need of the third one. They are quick reads as they are written for the average 13 year old, so fifth grade level, but I am going to tell you, wow, I am impressed and I like them. The premise is interesting, I am guessing the author is a fan of Logan’s Run, as it is similar to the concept of that movie. I did not find it disturbing that they had children killing children as middle school is a dog eat dog world in itself. I will be getting the third book today, I hope a store is open so I can get it!
I am going to see my beautiful Elizabeth Anne in Bonham for Easter, leaving the Irishman to celebrate with his children, I am taking care of their Easter dinner for them, he doesn’t cook, then off I go. So excited, I have never been to Sherman and that is where we will be having Easter lunch.
I hope everyone has a fantastic day, that if you have taught your children about the Easter bunny he comes to visit, and that everyone remember why we really have Easter. He is risen.

Great Monday

Monday was not so bad after all, our new shifts came out and I got what I wanted. 6 AM to 5PM with Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday off. Not too bad, I can still work out after work and have plenty of time before bed for household chores and TV viewing. Then not one but 2 Joss Whedon Alums on television last night. A new Bones and Castle on the same night! A dream come true! It seems something else happened yesterday and I cannot for the life of me remember what. I am losing my mind, or memory, or both. Oh I remember, I have Friday off, Tess is coming to spend the night Thursday night and all day Friday! I am seeing pink pancakes in our future, homemade Easter sugar cookies and an adventure! So excited. That girl is so much fun and I just love spending time with her. She is so smart and funny, not to mention adorable and beyond cute.
Today is Zumba day, I can’t wait, I love doing Zumba, not like working out at all, it is an hour of dancing. That I can handle! Ok, people, I have to go get ready for work now, the sooner I begin, the sooner it ends and I am Zumbaing my way to skinnyness!
