Hotworx and Menopause

I don’t know who I am anymore, Hotworx has taken two things I hate, combined them and created something I look forward to.

Heat and exercise, I loath both, but somehow in an infrared sauna I find both invigorating and cleansing at the same time.

I need to ask a question, to other people who do this on a regular basis. Or rather not a question, maybe a question, I don’t know.

Ok, here is the thing, I am sleeping super hard and waking up like I am just coming off of a two day drunk. I assume this is what that feels like, also my mouth is super dry when I wake up and feels really gross. More than just morning breath, so happy I live alone, so gross.

I sweat so much, and from places I didn’t know sweat glands existed, like my arms, not under my arms, but my actual arms. I didn’t know that sweating arms were a thing, but apparently it is.

Maybe I just have a lot of toxins in my body, who knows, but it is all coming out. I sleep a solid 7 to eight hours a night and it is a wonderful thing.

Does anyone else experience this and what does it mean? If you have any answers I would appreciate it if you shared them.  I think we all want to know, also my dreams have been very realistic lately.

Menopause is still happening, I read it can go on for 10 years, that’s a long time to battle this thing, that happens to all women. Everywhere. No escape. I take so many supplements, and I literally hate taking pills of any kind.

My doctor in Owasso once told me I’d make a horrible drug addict due to that fact. He was right, I hate taking pills, I always have, but since I am seeing results I am continuing in this journey.

I have to say my hair is super thick and my skin looks amazing, which apparently is something that most women lose during menopause.

I highly suggest collagen and supplements, also Fitish hair serum, that is really great for your hair. Oh and since starting with the Hotworx workouts, the weight is also coming off. I am very happy with that, my clothes are fitting differently and I feel lighter.

I am going to post the website to my exercise place, they have them all over. They are cost effective as well, I highly recommend them if you are like me and hate exercising, this is amazing, it also has an amazing recovery time.

With any other place I have been in severe pain for weeks after starting an exercise routine, with this I have had no pain. If you are my agish, I would highly suggest this, also if you have joint pain I would also suggest this workout place.

I hope you all have had a good week and enjoy your weekend. As usual any questions, comments, suggestion or criticisms can be left here or sent to me at angie@angieworld.com.

Menopause Update

It has been almost 30 days since I started my journey to lessen the ravages of menopause. It has been harrowing at times, at times I just wanted to throw in the towel and find a cave. A very cold, dark cave, not because my soul is dark, but because of the hot flashes.

Instead I stayed the course, I rattle when I walk from all of the supplements I am taking, but it’s working.

I have to tell you that I did some research into menopause and the awfulness of it all. There are so many things that happen to women! Did you know joint pain is common during menopause? I did not, and I have been having massive pain in my thumb joint on my left hand. So random and it has been hurting since January. I know, your next question is well why didn’t you go to the doctor.

I was busy, is one answer, and I was, January was a busy month, then it was my birthday month, then it was vacation time. Who has time for a doctors visit when your getting ready to for alien hunting in New Mexico? Or visiting family in Arizona? Hiking with a husky? Who has the time???

Just when I think ok, now I have time, the world imploded.  Doctors were not taking appointments if you didn’t have Covid. I don’t have Covid, so there you have it, I am happy to report I do have good news on the pain front.

First off I take so many supplements it literally takes me three hours every morning to get them down. I am not exaggerating, as most of you know, I have esophagus issues, taking pills is not an easy task.

So I have to take a couple wait, take a couple more, wait and so on and so on.

Here are my results so far:

My joint pain in my thumb is almost all gone, I am down to one hot flash a night, none during the day. I have way more energy and my memory is coming back.

Did you know memory loss is a symptom of menopause? So much fun!

Some women experience hair loss, mine is so thick it isn’t even funny. I do use collagen in my coffee every morning, I also use Doterra shampoo and conditioner and Fitish hair serum. I have so much new growth my hair line looks like a toddlers.

The weight, that is the biggest joke menopause plays on the majority of us. With all of the supplements and getting my body back internally, the weight is coming off. My cloths are fitting differently and I can see it in the mirror.

I am on the right track and it feels good, I also am sleeping 7 to 8 hours a night. Except for last night, but I think that was more thinking about my mom and not being able to sleep due to missing her so much.

So it was a one off, we need the sleep, our bodies use that time to heal and rejuvenate.

I will post pictures of all of the supplements I am taking on this post. I am not a doctor, I am not telling you to do this regimen, I am just giving you information on what is working for me.

Thank God I had no bone issues, because you lose bone density during menopause. I had a test, I’m good in that area, no brittle bones here.

I have said it before, I’ll say it again, it is not fair that we, women, have to go through this nonsense.

Throughout the beginning of time I do believe we have paid the price for Eve’s perfidy. it’s time to let up some now, maybe just get rid of this one thing. Or give men something, something equally as horrible, that would be awesome! If you could arrange that God I’d be really grateful.

ok, that is all I have for now, I hope you all have a great weekend and oh yes, it’s Dean Cain’s birthday today. And yes, he liked my tweet on Twitter. So yay me!

Have a great day and stay safe!

Brain Issues

I have a couple of things to talk about today and one involves my complete lack of brain matter.

So I ordered some Fitish products, they sent me an email for 40% off, so how could I resist. I placed my order and waited, it wasn’t a long wait, less than 24 hours later I received a notice that said it was delivered.

I eagerly went to my mailbox, not there, I looked at the mailing information in my email and I had put the wrong address. Yes one number off, so I went to the address that was on there, it doesn’t exist.

So I called the post office, which called me back, because there was an hour wait, I opted for the call back. Not really believing they would, but they did and the rep was incredibly nice and helpful and said she would contact the local post office.

A few hours later I get a call, it is my mail carrier herself! You see this is the advantage of living in a small town. She calls and says she had located the package and it was on my front porch. I wasn’t home, I was busy getting my hair done, I said Oh my goodness, thank you so much!

She said that there are two house on my street that order a lot, and she had taken it to the other one. I am one of two that order a lot on my street, let that sink in.

I thanked her profusely and she said if I had any other problems to just call her.

We usually hear all of the bad things about the United States Post Office, so I thought I would tell the good thing that happened to me.

Even the rep on Twitter reached out to me and was incredibly professional and helpful.

Next was Fitish itself, I replied the email saying no it wasn’t deliver and it was all my fault. I then told them I had been in contact with the post office and was sure they would be able to help me. They then sent me a reply saying keep them informed of the outcome.

Great customer service, it is a small company locally owned by Jenna Owens and she is fantastic as are the people she has hired.

I did go and have my hair done yesterday, it is now dark red with dark caramel highlights. It looks so awesome! I am so happy with the work Sarah does. Since it was my first real human contact in a while, face to face as it were, we both talked a lot. We talked about how unusual my hair it, I have fine, thick, curly hair, which is strange, usually curly hair is coarse, fine hair is thin. So yay me for another strange thing about me.

I then went to Target, while checking out I got a hot flash, while wearing a mask. Let me tell you, that was the most uncomfortable I have ever been! A hot flash is bad enough, but in a mask it is even worse, because I started to sweat, which made the air wet in the mask. I have Pleurisy, so this is not a good atmosphere for me. As soon as I hit the door I tore that thing off and filled my lungs with fresh air.
With the mandate of masks everywhere now I don’t even know what to do. The mask I had on was a little thicker, so I am going to get a thin material mask for my next outing.

I hope you all have a great day, shop Fitish, they are awesome and their customer service is incredible.

Just Do Something

So last night I got to do something really cool. It all started last Friday evening, I received a message from my friend Cheryl. She asked if I knew about Jenna Owens (from the Kidd Kraddick in the morning show) was having an event promoting her skincare line, Fitish. I said no, I did not, she sent me the link and said that she had already signed up and she knew that I love Jenna and Fitish as much as she does and thought I would like to go.

The day was a Thursday, perfect, as that is my Friday, I immediately said I’m in.

The event was in Dallas at a place called Camera Ready Cosmetics, I had never heard of this place, not unusual as I am in Anna. I immediately bought my ticket and sent an email to let them know Cheryl had referred me.

The big night came, Cheryl and I met in Allen and drove to Dallas together. Since we are roughly the same age we immediately began to compare age happenings and found so much commonalities.

We also agreed we would stop each other from Baioing it up in front of Jenna. If anyone is curious about that phrase, it is about me not Scott Baio, do a quick search here and you will find the abbreviated version of my story. I digress, we would stop each other from overly gushing over Jenna therefore not embarrassing ourselves.

We arrived and went into the location, we were greeted and given a gift for coming. If you bought your ticket online, you received $25 off of your purchase that night and also you received $150.00 in product from Camera Ready. They were so nice and welcoming from the front door to the room where the event was being held.

Cheryl and I were among the first to arrive and we scored front row seats. Trying not to fangirl out, we kept each other calm.

Then in came Jenna, she came up to us, shook our hands, asked our names and then talked to us. Really talked to us, conversed, she was so down to earth and seemed genuinely happy that people had come out for this.

I have to tell you before I continue that she is truly one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen. You see these people on social media and on television as well and of course there is great lighting, filters and editing. So you wonder if they really look like that in real life. She does.

She has gotten so many question regarding her makeup routine she decided to do this event and show people what she does.

Now I have been experimenting with skincare and makeup since I was 13. I have also been a Mary Kay Skincare Consultant since 2001. I do know a lot of things, but I learned some things last night, which I will be implementing in my makeup routine.

I know I’ve talked about it before, but I really love her skincare line. I originally bought the Cool Down spray for Elizabeth Anne for Christmas. Then I went back and bought myself the Dewing it and Cool Down, then bought everything.

I will also say this, I am a long time listener to the show, I remember when Jenna first came on, I feel like I’ve watched her grow up. I am so proud of the woman that she is, she is a positive role model for young women.

After she was done with her makeup tutorial, she asked if we had any questions, she said she would answer anything.

She answered personal questions, she answered Halloween questions and she answered business questions.

My take away from the whole evening was when Jenna said if you are passionate about something and really want to explore it, just do something. Just one thing a day, get out of your house, get out of your comfort zone and just commit to doing one thing a day.

In this day and age where women seem to love tearing each other down, she was refreshing, she actually embodies the Mary Kay way, lift women up, praise to success, share ideas. What a breath of fresh air, we should all be lifting each other up instead of tearing each other down.

Not just women, all of us, I am very excited for her future and so happy she welcomed all of us into this place and shared so much with us. There seemed to be women from all walks of life there as well, and different ages, there was even a policewoman. Everyone was super nice and friendly and it was just a pleasant evening and I am so happy I left my house and did something.

Oh I almost forgot! Jenna’s mom Candy was there, what a delight meeting her! She was so sweet and genuinely happy to be there and supporting her daughter. You can tell she is Jenna’s number one fan.

I will put the links to Camera Ready Cosmetics and Fitish, oh CRC was such a fun place, they do a lot of fun makeup things and even movie and television makeup. Special effects sort of things, if you want to do something fun for a Halloween party give them a call.

On the Dean Cain front, my bestie Shay has offered to keep Storm, I am going to talk to her and tell her how needy my dog is and let her know what she is in for. That way she has the opportunity to say um no, I do have a lead on a dog sitting place as well. Keep your fingers crossed people.
