So yesterday I got to feel moderately helpful, went to BBFF’s new house and was able to boss around two premise technicians and two installation and repair technicians. No, I really bossed around no one, I was only there for moral support. Here is the really amazing thing, one of the prem techs, Juan is the brother of one of the people I work with, Miguel, what a small world. Then they tell me they are calling out an I&R tech as there are issues and he gets there and it is my old friend Quentin from my service rep days! What a great day.
Have I mentioned my rousing bout of sword fighting? Yes, I was challenged to a dual, BBFF’s little boy challenged me, he had a terrific light saber, light up and made noise, while I was given a yellow bat like thing. I don’t know who won, I just know it was a blast.
Also while there, got to catch up with BBFF parental units, always a good time catching up with them. Just an all around great family, the house was filled with hustle and bustle and brimming with activity. Very happy for him as this is really a great house, one that humans actually make into a home. Great neighborhood, great house and I foresee many great memories being made by him and his son.
I admit I am completely worn out, the heat has done me in, I cannot take it, I am begging God for snow. If I have to endure this kind of summer can I please have a real winter, this is too much.
Well that is all I have for now, looking forward to a weekend spent in my pajamas, OMG I almost totally forgot, I came home to my brand new Betsey Johnson Pajamas waiting for me, thank you RueLaLa, I love them. My day is complete. I shall sign off now, I leave you with one thought, think snow.
My Monday So Far
Well Monday has found us again, I tried to hide, I really did, covers over the head and everything, but alas it did no good. Monday came like it always does, always predictable, nearly always a calamity. Today will be good, there I said it, I mean it and it will happen!
Weekend was filled with hair going away, girls getting their new dresses I ordered from Ruelala, and seeing Tessa. All in all a good weekend.
Oh yes, one April Fools joke, the Irishman and I changed our relationship status to married, no, not married, still engaged. Perhaps we shall stay engaged forever, who knows, not even I can answer that.
Well, it is off to work I go, I find out today if I got the tour I wanted, I really hope I did. I am looking forward to having 3 days off during the week. If I get the one I really want, I will work Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, having off Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. How great is that? Work 2 days, off one, work one then off two. I will let you all know if I get that tour. It means working 6 am to 5 pm, but that is ok, I can do that, 6 is still later than 5. Wish me luck!
No Internet Weekend
I did it, I went 24 hours with no internet, it was hard, I am not going to lie. Especially first thing in the morning, I read the comics and Dear Abby online, that is how I start my day, however, yesterday I did not get to. I did make the Irishman bring me a newspaper, I accessed the old fashioned way. He said the hardest part was when his soccer team won and he couldn’t brag about it, and when the man at the bar hit on him. He couldn’t even text me about it, since he is the one that said no text messages. Serves him right, since he came home and then slept all day. Yes, I believe he cheated because he was “sick” so he slept all day. Avoided temptation, is what he did. Ok, so he was actually not feeling well, but still, I went to Costco and Target and couldn’t even tell anyone where I was.
I would also like to say thank you to Jess and Elizabeth Anne for bombarding me with messages I could not read. I resisted the urge to even look; I did call them and ask them what was so all fired important. Nothing, nothing was important!
I have to admit it was kind of freeing in a way, after a while, I didn’t have the urge to look, to see what everyone was doing, to see if I was missing something. I think I will unplug every once in a while just to regroup. I caught up on my TV watching, I read a book, which is something I love to do, it was nice. I did miss the Stylization on Ruelala, which was sad for me, but Elizabeth Anne sent me a text this morning saying I didn’t miss anything. What a relief!
Watched another episode of GCB, I am really loving that show, it is so spot on, everyone who lives in the Dallas/FT Worth area needs to see this show. Oh who am I kidding, all Baptists need to see this show, it doesn’t matter where you live, this show is spot on. Watch it!
Dawn’s in Trouble, Must Be Tuesday
I did something I have not done in a while last night, I cooked, yes, me, cooked, not in the microwave, but in the oven. I had an urge, I saw a recipe and wanted to try it, so I did, and it was yummy. Bonus, I did not set the fire alarm off, major accomplishment. I will be taking some for lunch today.
I will be taking my lunch as I will not have a car today, the Irishman has to take me to work as my car is in the shop and Alex is coming home today and well, his car is my spare. So excited Alex is coming home, hated him being in Mexico. So, today is going to be a good day.
Our new shift bid selections have come out and I have turned mine in, I really hope I get my number 1 choice, keep your fingers crossed. All the people who currently have the shift I want are lower in seniority than me, so unless there is an unsettling balance I should get it. I will tell you all what it is after they announce the new schedule Which will be March 23rd.
I am saddened by the lack of cold and snow this year, no one will ever know the disappointment that I feel. I feel abandoned by snow, ok, if I am honest, I feel like I am being punished. I can’t figure out for what, but I feel this is a punishment. Or, maybe God needed all the snow in heaven this year for Chewie’s enjoyment. I thing I have figured it out! Some state needed to sacrifice their snow, Chewie I gladly give you my snow this year! I hope you have enjoyed it my friend, you deserve it.
This weekend I went on a mini shopping spree on Ruelala and Zappos, so I am spent out, no more shopping for me for a while, although I do need new spring and summer tops. Hmmmm, could be a shopping trip is in my future! Till tomorrow my friends, I hope your day brings peace, love, happiness and if you can’t have that, chocolate!
Bonham!
Vacation!!! WooooHoooo! Was there ever a sweeter word invented? Today is very busy, dentist, then Bonham to see Jeffrey about car issues and Elizabeth for shopping in Sherman. Very excited to see two of my children today, and I will be see the new calf that was just born. Yes, Elizabeth Anne is the proud mommy of a new calf. She has not named her yet, oh did I mention it is a girl?
I think I have made a mistake this morning, I am drinking coffee before the dentist, oh well, will have to brush good and gargle really good with Listerine!
