Well it was another jam-packed weekend, Friday Tessa was supposed to come spend the night, however she was not feeling very well, so she was not able to. So I pick up the Irishman’s girls and they play until bed time, then the next day it was the pool for some water and sun fun. The amazing news came that Tess was all better and able to come and spend the night Saturday night. What great news! She came and the three of them had a grand time, playing outside with bubbles and chasing not one but two squirrels up a tree. Tessa is absolutely convinced that she is going to capture one for a pet one day.
Then it was bedtime and Sunday morning it was off to Target to get a swimsuit for Tess then fun in the sun and water. 4 hours of fun, thank goodness for SPF 50, the Irishman’s children are still pale and Tessa is a nice golden brown. With Italian and Native American heritage, well she is going to be able to tan to a golden brown without burning.
Not much sleep last night, Sunday nights are hard for me in the sleep department, it is ever allusive until around 1 AM, then I fall deeply asleep only to be awakened by the soothing tones of Andrea True Connection. Jarring is what it is, I so badly want to sleep, however I will not get that until tonight, then I will be out like a light.
This week will be a busy one, as Jess has me working on my day off, someone tell me why I did not choose the install time for the UVerse??? I could have done that without asking him! I could have chosen a later time, oh the woes of being a good friend!
Jumpstreet Goodness
Here it is, another Monday for me, I admit I am worn out, yesterday was equal parts stressful, exciting and fun. It was back to the doctor for the Irishman in the AM, still have no definitive answers, but hopefully soon. Then it was taking three little girls for a lunch at McDonalds then on to Jumpstreet, a new place for us.
Jumpstreet has trampolines built-in the floor of the establishment, it was the best money I have ever spent. I have never seen three little girls more exuberant in their pursuit of happiness. The ran, they jumped, they bounced, they swung into a pit of foam squares, two of them rode a mechanical bull. We went into a maze, they slid down the big slide, which made my stomach hurt to watch, they played on a giant alligator. All in all a very successful outing, next Wednesday will be at the water park. That should be an experience in itself.
Did I mention the purple pancakes for breakfast? Those were interesting, not enough red food coloring to make the red Tess wanted, not enough blue to make real blue, so in the batter they both went.
Tess did not want to go when her mom came to pick her up, she was having too much fun, she was also incredibly tired. I think the day wore her out as well, all of the good old-fashioned fun left her drained. I am guessing she was asleep before they hit the highway.
Today it is back to work for me, maybe a trip to Starbucks, I don’t know, I am still angry with them so we shall see.
Oh, once again, for anyone who has something to say to me, angie@angieworld.com is a good place to send those emails.
Great Monday
Monday was not so bad after all, our new shifts came out and I got what I wanted. 6 AM to 5PM with Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday off. Not too bad, I can still work out after work and have plenty of time before bed for household chores and TV viewing. Then not one but 2 Joss Whedon Alums on television last night. A new Bones and Castle on the same night! A dream come true! It seems something else happened yesterday and I cannot for the life of me remember what. I am losing my mind, or memory, or both. Oh I remember, I have Friday off, Tess is coming to spend the night Thursday night and all day Friday! I am seeing pink pancakes in our future, homemade Easter sugar cookies and an adventure! So excited. That girl is so much fun and I just love spending time with her. She is so smart and funny, not to mention adorable and beyond cute.
Today is Zumba day, I can’t wait, I love doing Zumba, not like working out at all, it is an hour of dancing. That I can handle! Ok, people, I have to go get ready for work now, the sooner I begin, the sooner it ends and I am Zumbaing my way to skinnyness!
My Day Yesterday
This is a momentous day, Palm Sunday and April Fools all in one, I am thankful that Christ giving his life for my pittiful one is no joke.
Yesterday was the big day, the Irishman had his whole head full of hair shaved off in a show of solidarity with kids who are battling cancer. In the process a lot of fun was had and he raised money for St Baldricks, all in all a good day. One minute he was a hairy beast, the next he was a Hulk Hogan impersonator, the next he was a Mr Clean look alike. His 1759 Society friends were there and helped raise money, they are the ones that got him to the Hulk Hogan stage, it was up to me to get him to the Mr Clean stage. With the help of a new friend and a stranger all the hair was gone and money went to help fight cancer that attacks children.
After that I took Lauren and Carolion to see Tess, together they are like the Three Musketeers, full charge, ready to face any challenge and capture lady bugs and worms. A great day indeed.
I look forward to a day full of sunshine, fun, and lots of April Fools jokes, and in the midst of all that, remembering to be thankful for all that is here for us to enjoy.
A Great Day Indeed
Well, happy Thursday, I see another gateway day has graced us with it’s presence, very happy to see you friend. Has anyone ever noticed how happy Thursdays are? There is a joyousness that cannot be denied, an anticipatory feeling in the air. The weekend is near and anything is possible, a very happy day indeed. This week has been full of goodness, I got to see Jeffrey and Tess more than usual and Alex came home. I communicate with Elizabeth Anne almost every day, whether it is via text, twitter or actual voice. Life is good, I am a fortunate mother, I have amazing children.
Things are good at home, I have no complaints at this point in life, oh it doesn’t hurt that every single thing I ordered this weekend came in yesterday as well.
I renewed my license and the woman that was helping me said wow you have lost a lot of weight since this last picture was taken, I wanted to hug her, make her my new best friend. However since there is a man with a gun working at the DMV I decided not to hop the counter and left with a simple thank you.
Perhaps today will be a Starbucks day, I can practically hear the Passion Tea calling my name, I get it sans sweetener so it is 0 points. Oh, speaking of, did I tell you all I am completely off of te artificial sweeteners? I have switched to honey in my coffee and have not looked back. I do feel better, so far no sinus infections, we will see during the spring season, when it is so windy and there are so many allergins in the air.
Well people, I am totally out of here, looking forward to a good day at work and a good workout afterward. Oh wow, that last part made me literally laugh out loud. No such thing as a good workout!
