Quick Thoughts

So, next month, The Real Housewives of New Jersey starts back up, which is what has me thinking. Teresa Guidice troubles me, last season we saw her life disintegrating, her friends finally tired of her manipulations and sometimes outright lies left her side. She alienated her family by being nasty to her sister in law and trying to start trouble in their marriage.
But the thing that bothers me the most is her husband’s treatment of her; he called her the C word on national television. He was caught, on the phone, with what can only be another woman, calling his wife the most heinous word in the male vocabulary. She then goes on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, who asks her about the incident, she tells him that her husband bought her jewelry to make it up to her.
Even Andy Cohen looked at her like she was insane, really Teresa, jewelry, to make up for calling you a name that is so vulgar, so hurtful, setting women back 100 years. I can see wanting to stay with your husband, I mean she has 4 daughters with him. Daughters. So years from now, when they see this episode, will they hate their father or their mother? Will they grow up to be with men who treat them the same as their father treats their mother? These are questions Teresa really needs to ask herself, I could see if she had gone on television and said, yes, it was horrible, but for me, marriage is for life, so we went to counseling, we worked it out. But no, she said he bought her presents to make up for that.
This infuriates me as a woman, as a mother of a daughter; this whole episode makes me angry, angry with Teresa Guidice for not doing the right thing. She did a stupid thing, she sold her dignity for jewelry, at least that is what she told the world. I wonder how they could afford jewelry, with Joe not having a job, having legal issues and with Teresa being the only one bringing in money. She was probably not being honest about that either, she didn’t look like she was being honest in telling that to Andy Cohen.
I hope this season is a better one for all of the ladies, I hope Teresa and her husband sought some much needed help in resolving their issues. Like I said they have four daughters to consider, and I do hope Teresa considers them, that she has to be an example to them and their father has to be an example of how they are to be treated all of their lives.

Real Housewives of New Jersey Stress

Well, another weekend is gone, another three day weekend is gone, I got to spend Friday in Bonham seeing Jeffrey, Elizabeth and Alex. A great day indeed, I spent time at the shop with the boys, and then I went to Elizabeth Anne’s office and got the grand tour.
She has so much Office stuff, from Dunder Mifflin Paper to a Dwight bobble head, so cool! I took pictures and posted them to Facebook, so if you really know me and are friends with me you can see the items there.
Then it was off to pick Tess up from school and take her to Jump Street for an adventure, we jumped and ran and had a ton of fun. Then it was McDonald’s so she could eat and play some more. She made friends with some girls on the playground and had a ton of fun there as well. A good afternoon indeed.
On Saturday, it was Avengers day, I watched everything, from the gag reel to the extended scenes to the one narrated by Joss Whedon. Then I watched the movie again, for the 7th time, yes you are reading correctly, the 7th time, no I did not assimilate into the movie yet. I don’t believe that happens until like the 30th time. So I have plenty of time to pick out my outfit that I will be wearing for all eternity in the film.
I stayed up last night and watched the first part of the reunion show for the Real Housewives of New Jersey. I am so stressed out by that show; Theresa is either living in such denial, is delusional or is a pathological liar. I can’t decide, even when confronted by the fact that she does not write her own blog and doesn’t even know the meanings of the words used in the blog she will not give it up. She put down Caroline for being overweight and not having any plastic surgery. Ok, what kind of world are we living in when women are put down for NOT having plastic surgery? I know I talk about it a lot, wanting to have it, but I would never put down anyone for not having it. My mother and grandmother were beautiful women and they never had plastic surgery. Shame on you Theresa for putting someone down for being natural, shame on you for saying your husband could get more phone numbers at a bar than someone else’s husband. What? Who would brag on something like that amid the rumors of your husband cheating on you? Seriously? I believe Jacqueline over you, it is that simple, as does most of America, I do believe you are narcissistic on a level that is beyond comprehension. I do not believe you were that way the first season, you were more into your daughters and your home life, yes to some extent your looks, however we are all to some extent into our looks, but now you have surpassed everyone on a level that is just scary. Stop putting others down to make yourself feel better and know that when a parent has passed you do not EVER say anything about them that is derogatory in nature. I don’t even know if I can stomach watching the other two installments of the reunion, but I probably will.

Stressful Television

I hate drama, and I don’t very much care for the people that start it, I am so stressed out from watching The Real Housewives of New Jersey this season. Teresa is lying a lot, we saw last season where she told Caroline and Jacqueline both to not talk to Melissa and Kathy. Bravo plays a lot of those things to show Teresa couldn’t tell the truth if it bit her in the behind. Just an example is the cookie thing, Kathy never once said oh these are my mother’s recipe, Bravo replayed that scene, she said oh my mother used to make these. Teresa sees drama where there is none and then explodes it into something completely different than what it was.
I do believe it was the right thing to do when Joe got her out of there, the only nice thing he did all season. I do feel bad for her seeing what her husband said about her to what was obviously another woman. I hope they really have worked things out on that front, as I did feel bad for Teresa, no one deserves for their own husband to say those things about them. EVER.
I wish Teresa would go back to writing her own blog, it is obvious it is not her, it was way more colorful when she did it herself.
We now know what Jacqueline was going through at home, since the article in People magazine came out. I do not envy her at all going through that, it will be a lifelong battle, to secure the treatments her son needs and to figure out what works and what doesn’t. She was very brave making that public, perhaps helping others in their struggle with Autism.
I believe Dina Manzo needs to step up to the plate and tell Teresa my family means more to me than you do. She has many siblings and in-laws she has ditched simply to be friends with someone that if she disagreed with would dump her in a heartbeat. It has been shown time and time again, Teresa is only loyal as long as you agree with her. Tell her you are going to distance yourself while you work on your relationships with your family.
Another fun filled week at work, 2 days there, one day off, two days there, two days off, the next shift change starts September 9. I will be working Monday through Thursday this time around, it should be interesting. Having three days off in a row will be very restful, I hope!

Everyone Should Wear Red in Jersey

Friday is here once again and I am so tempted to stop into my favorite hangout and treat myself to a coffee. I can quit you Starbucks, I don’t know what power you hold over me, but I like it. I like the way the coffee smells when you grind the beans, when you make the actual coffee and when you pour it into the cup and add all of the goodies, well the flavor is near heaven. I know without a doubt our relationship, no matter how contentious at times it becomes, will continue for a long time. You are my nirvana.
For those of you wondering, I have not forgotten about Sunday’s episode of Real Housewives of New Jersey. This episode saw Joey Gorga telling his wife why she should not wear red around him in front of people. It makes Tarzan way too happy, wow, all women should be so lucky to have such a man in their lives. One that when he sees his woman can barely control himself, makes me want to move to Jersey and see if there are more of him there. Or take the Irishman there and see if any Italian ways will rub off on him.
Melissa and Gia acquitted themselves very nicely at Beatstock, I do think Teresa should have a talk with her girls and let them know the things they say about their aunt are not very nice. Perhaps they should be taught not to repeat everything they hear at home, interesting how Miliania totally tells the world how Juicy Joe lives in a different room from Teresa. She tries to pretty that one up in her blog, but I’m not buying. She is not a happily married woman at the point this was filming and it shows. I do hope things get better with her and her husband, I am rooting for her to succeed, as I find myself rooting for all of the women on here and their families. I don’t think I have ever been so invested in a reality show, in fact I don’t watch them, this is the only one. I have no idea why it fascinates me so much, but it does and I have no shame regarding said fascination.
Here is to a fabulous Friday people, I hope you have a fantastic day!

5 Hour Fights and Dallas

Yesterday was my day off and I did nothing, yes, nothing, well a few loads of laundry, but really, I did nothing. And it was good. I did manage to watch a documentary on Ronald Reagan, they showed the moment when Nancy Reagan said goodbye to him. It still breaks my heart and I sob like a big fat baby, watching her heartbreak. Saying goodbye to a man she had loved so passionately for so long, just sad.
My stomach hurt yesterday, I think I am getting what the Irishman had, finally, I want to lose 20 pounds in two weeks. Keep your fingers crossed for me! So not fair that a person who does not need to lose weight got that particular illness. I don’t know why good things can’t happen to me.
Sunday night was another new episode of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, an explosive episode, the show down between Jacqueline and Teresa. I fully believe both women are wrong at that juncture, I know Jacqueline was concerned for Teresa, seeing all of the tabloid reports, however, you can’t expect your friends to tell you every detail of their lives. Now, on the other hand, seeing the tabloid, Teresa is going to jail, perhaps Teresa should have told Jacqueline, if things were really that bad I would have told you. Absolutely. It obviously is fine if Teresa is doing so much construction to her home, adding carports and garage apartments, not something that is cheap. Even if your husband does that for a living, you still have major expenses. I do not believe she doesn’t have control over the covers that she gets paid for; the tabloids are a different story. Those print whatever they want, they don’t care and they only pay informants. So both women in the wrong, seriously a 5 hour argument??? No way I would have sat there for that beating; I would have been done with that in 5 minutes.
Dallas was last night, I am seriously loving this evolution of the show, I love that they kept the theme, updating it of course, but the same sweeping tones, showing scenes of the city I love so much. The pure evilness of JR, just wow, Larry Hagman has not lost a bit of his timing. The younger actors could take more than a few lessons from him, he is pure greatness. One can tell he simply delights in playing this character, it comes across in his delivery, his expressions, everything. Love it, will continue to watch it.
So the Irishman has a new schedule that he begins next week, he will be working Friday through Monday, the only day off we will have together is Wednesday. With the new schedule, this week he works 6 straight days. So we had no day off together, we used to have Sundays, but this Sunday he will be at work, did I mention the hours, 11:00 am to 9:30 pm. It really is as if we are having a long distance relationship and we live together.

Coffee Monday

So today is Monday, I have to admit I stayed up way to late watching TV, but come on, how on earth does anyone expect me to miss the Real Housewives of New Jersey and Watch What Happens Live! I mean seriously, Rosie was on WWHL, no way was I missing that! I love Rosie, she just rocks. Last nights episode of RHONJ did not disappoint, it was filled with laughter, tears and drama. However it wasn’t really Teresa that brought the drama it was Gia, or as Andy say, G to the IA, she really is hitting the tween years hard. My heart goes out to Teresa, she has to do this 4 times, I hope at least one of the girls is even tempered, however being Italian and Jersey, she is in for some rocky times.

Teresa also lied last night to make her brother look bad, saying he had not reached out to her when indeed he did. Once again Joe Guidice proves he is just a horrible human being saying the worst things about Teresa’s family one could say and on camera. On one had you can understand his frustration as his wife tells him everything and of course slants it to make herself look good (as we all do as humans) and he is fed up with hearing all of this. It does make one wonder, Teresa tells her husband everything; however she expects her brother to keep secrets from his wife. Interesting, I would think she would understand that, I hope she is getting the point of all of that. Watching these shows cannot be easy for her, she was always one of my favorites and I still root for her, I want things to work out for her and her adorable little girls.

So, on to me, Saturday was a Ladies that Lunch happening, it was wonderful as usual, one woman came that is a rare attendee, it was so wonderful seeing her, she always adds fun and laughter to any event she joins us for, so happy to see Charlotte. The food was amazing, we went to one of the Chocolate Angel restaurants, their food is just wonderful, I ate too much. Then it was seeing Jeffrey, I always love seeing any of my children, now that they are grown I don’t get to see them every day and I miss them. However I love seeing them independent and self sufficient, although sometimes they still need their mother. As in looking after their animals when they go out of time, then I get to be useful! Love it!

I am loving my schedule, however next time I am thinking of doing the straight 4 x 10’s and having 3 days in a row off. I am thinking towards Christmas, I could get so much done with those three days off, without having to take any vacation time, so there we have it. I will be doing the straight 4 x 10’s next time, having Friday through Sunday off. Well I am going to sign off now and drink my coffee, I need it today, the housewives wore me out!

RHNJ is BACK!!!

Well, it was a rough wake up, I can say that, however I did have the foresight to have my coffeemaker programmed and already brewing when the alarm went off. Coffee is the elixir of the gods, what a gift it is to us mere humans.
Yesterday was spent taking Carolion and Lauren to the movies, I took them to see Journey 2, the Mysterious Island, at the dollar movie, which is now $2.00. Still fun, I did find that .50 cent Tuesday has now turned into .75 cent Tuesday. Still a great deal.
I cannot believe this is my Monday and also my psuedo Thursday, what an amazing thought, I am one blessed woman. The Irishman had a couple of setbacks this weekend, but by last evening he was looking better. Hopefully this road to recovery will continue in its progress.
I did watch the season premier of the Real Housewives of New Jersey, man, that Joey Gorga is just heartbreaking to watch. You can tell he cares a great deal about his sister, Theresa, and yet she is in such denial about her financial issues, her personal issues, everything. Theresa did at one point try to talk to her husband about the tabloid reports of him cheating, in the guise of their daughter having seen the headlines in the grocery store. His response, it is what it is Tre, I was like, what, that is not a denial, no, well you know I am not cheating, no let me talk to her and comfort her and let her know her dad is not a lying scumbag and cheater. Not a ringing endorsement of his fidelity, however, if it works for them, who is to say anything negative about them. Still love Caroline Manzo, that woman just doesn’t take any nonsense from anyone, Jacqueline is still breaking my heart with her issues with Ashley, her daughter, so sad, Jacqueline does not deserve that turmoil. She is a good mom and Ashley is spoiled beyond belief and thinks everything should be given to her and she should not have to work for anything.
Melissa and Joey are still cracking me up, he is so funny and so is she, she just makes up words, it is so funny to watch.
Well that is all for now, must go and get dressed for the day, just because I go in early does not mean I get a pass in the fashion department. Must look fabulous!
