Here I sit mentally preparing myself to go back to work, I am having coffee, reading the funny paper and Dear Abby, yes that is how I mentally prepare myself. And yes, I said funny paper, it might be online, but that is still what I call it. I read three comic strips, I have read the same ones for years, and I love them, they are what we call gentle humor. Gentle humor is necessary to get my day started the right way, nothing jarring, no bad news, no outside world, just me, my coffee and my funny paper.
Yesterday I did absolutely nothing, it was a total pajama day, I did watch my movie Elizabeth Anne got me, Just Go With It. I love that movie, I don’t know why, I can’t explain it, but I love it. I love Jennifer Anniston, I am total team Jennifer all the way, I believe what Angelina Jolie did was wrong. She is nothing but a two bit homewrecker, I don’t care how many kids she adopts or gives birth to, one day they will realize what she did, and it is not ok. She is gross, and dirty, and disgusting. I have said it before and I will say it again, if you knowingly break up a home there will be consequences, we have yet to see Angelina’s, and we may never see them, that is between her and God.
Too deep for what is my Monday this week, I shall be light and fluffy from this point forward.
I am having my Godiva Breakfast Blend coffee that Elizabeth Anne gave me for Christmas, it was in my Christmas stocking! I love it, have I mentioned lately what an amazing daughter I have?
Her birthday is coming up on February 1st, I already know what I am getting her, she will not be surprised. Maybe I will find one thing that will surprise her. I did manage to surprise her a little on Christmas. I can’t wait to see the pictures she takes with her new camera! I know she will be taking a ton of her animals! She is the Ellie Mae Clampett of Bonham, Texas. She got that from my Grandpa, he had a way with animals as well. So glad to see something of my family heritage passed down. She gets that whole farm girl thing from them, it skipped a generation, totally. I am not a farm girl, I know she gets irritated with me when I wear the wrong shoes whenever I go visit her. But what am I supposed to wear? I don’t have country shoes, oh, country shoes, I shall have to find those!

Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas everyone, I truly hope that this Christmas is filled with peace and love for everyone. Christmas Eve is the day that my children and I gather for our family Christmas, well, gathering. We eat, we laugh and we exchange presents. We have been doing this on Christmas Eve for a long time, it started a few years after the divorce, that way they could enjoy the presents they got at our house before going to their home with their dad on Christmas day. We didn’t have to rush Christmas morning, or Christmas dinner, we had it all the day before. It worked well for us as a whole, and I believe it continues to do so, much less pressure on the kids if they don’t feel they have to choose a parent on a holiday.
Alex was missing from last nights festivities, and I missed him an enormous amount, but he was doing something that is important to him, I cannot fault him for that.
I believe everyone had a good time yesterday, I know my children well enough to know if they did not they would let me know in a heartbeat. I hope everyone liked their presents, I know I did, I have the most thoughtful children on the face of the planet.
Elizabeth Anne gave me Wonder Woman socks! And Godiva coffee and new slipper boots and a new coat and Starbucks coffee and sour skittles and one of my favorite movies. Jeffrey gave me a gift card to Macy’s, after Christmas sale here I come! Tessa was so funny last night, she and Elizabeth together are a comedy duo! I was laughing so hard watching those two, it was hysterical, I wish I had captured it on video. At one point Tess tells Elizabeth, your mommy is crazy. She was talking about me. I was like What!, I said who is her mom? she said you. Tess is 4 by the way. That is her new thing, everyone is crazy, I have no idea where she got it, but it is funny as all get out. We colored in her new coloring book, played with her new My Little Ponies and her new Barbie RV. She is a funny little girl who is bright, articulate and intelligent, of course she belongs to us!
I hope everyone has a great Christmas, not only for the presents, but to take time to reflect on why we have Christmas. God’s son was born this day, a son that would grow up to give His life for our sins. It is hard to be as unselfish as that, however, I shall strive to be a little more understanding of the people in my life.
Holiday Happenings
The miracle that is a vacation week continues, I got my new boots yesterday, my incredible over the knee boots, and today is the first day of winter! How amazing is that! New boots in time for the first day of winter. Proof of Gods love of me just continues on.
Yesterday was an amazing day spent with Elizabeth Anne, shopping, Taco Bueno, and did I mention shopping.
Then watching Love Actually with the Irishman, I love that movie, I think all fo the actors did a fantastic job in their roles. And, please, don’t gag, but I love watching with the Irishman. I think it is an incredibly romantic, funny movie and I consider it “our” holiday movie. A must to watch together.
What are some of your favorite holiday movies that you watch with your significant other? And I say holiday because it could be a New Years movie as well. I have not take Christmas out of my season.
Bad news from yesterday, I took my car to have it looked at, Jeffrey and Jeff (ex-husband i.e. car genius) tells me it is the intake manifold and the gasket seals that need replacing and it will take them a couple of days to do it. So I am carless for till Saturday. That was my bad news, the good news is, it will be fixed by people I trust.

Bonham!
Vacation!!! WooooHoooo! Was there ever a sweeter word invented? Today is very busy, dentist, then Bonham to see Jeffrey about car issues and Elizabeth for shopping in Sherman. Very excited to see two of my children today, and I will be see the new calf that was just born. Yes, Elizabeth Anne is the proud mommy of a new calf. She has not named her yet, oh did I mention it is a girl?
I think I have made a mistake this morning, I am drinking coffee before the dentist, oh well, will have to brush good and gargle really good with Listerine!

Friday Problems
It is finally upon us, Friday, let us all do the dance of joy, I know I am. After today just one and a half days of work! Then off till the following Tuesday, I only have one more person to buy presents for, Elizabeth Anne, and stocking stuffers, yes stocking stuffers. My grown children still expect stockings, and you know what, I still have a lot of fun doing them. So, continue to do them I will.
It has been raining here all week, the rain makes me so sleepy, so last night was an early to bed night, I slept very soundly, I love a rainy night. I know I stole that from Eddy Rabbit, you don’t have to tell me.
So far on my days off I have a dental appointment and a nail appointment, although I am thinking I may change my nail appointment to this weekend as my nails are getting way long, and typing the way I do all day this is not a good thing. Maybe if my occupation was Femme Fatale they would be the perfect length maybe even a little longer, however since I am an ordinary DSL technician for a major telecommunications corporation, they are a pain.
I am thinking I need a Christmas present for myself, I am in serious need of new pajama pants, and Old Navy is having their huge sale of $7.00 a pair and that is an excellent price. So this weekend that is a stop on my list, I also have new coupons for Bed, Bath and Beyond and one for Kohl’s, so those are on my list as well. I still have to make a grocery list, I am choosing to go grocery shopping when I am off, durring the week, hopefully it will be less crowded during the week than on a Saturday or Sunday.
Shopping with Elizabeth Anne again, to get her presents, since yes, I do need her help picking out her things. She is a tiny creature, size 0 that even some 0’s are too big. Before anyone gets on their high horse and says that is too skinny, this child eats, and is incredibly active, she is a farm girl after all, she takes after her dad’s side of the family, they are not big people, well the majority of them are not.
Ok, peeps, I have to go make myself beautimus for my co-workers, as you are getting dressed today remember the rest of us have to look at you, put some effort in people! I totally got that from an old Mervyn’s commercial. See ya in the funny papers!
Terrific Tuesday
Ok, so, every day my dad would eat a tablespoon full of honey, he would spread it on his toast, of course this was honey that we got from the honey man up the road. He said that someone told him a long time ago that if you eat a tablespoon full of honey one would never have weight problems. My dad was not fat, so there may have been something to that, or it could have been the fact he was very active and ate healthy otherwise. We shall never know which it was, anyway, Elizabeth Anne told me she started eating honey because someone told her if you ingest local honey it would help with allergies. So, I was at Costco on Sunday and they had a local vendor there that sells, you guessed it, honey. Honey made in Frisco, so, I decided to give both theories a go. I bought the honey and am having a tablespoon in my coffee instead of sweet-n-low, I figure it has to be better for me than chemical sweeteners. It is two weight watcher points and I only have the one tablespoon per day. My coffee actually tastes better, so far so good, don’t really know anything regarding allergies or weight loss as of yet, but the taste is good.
I am looking forward to this weekend, very busy, getting nails done early Saturday morning, then shopping, then Christmas gathering with the Ladies that Lunch, this time no lunch, dinner. We are mixing it up folks! Cause that’s how we roll. I crack myself up.
Elizabeth Anne came yesterday while I was at work, she organized my closet, cleaned my kitchen and, yes, organized my boots and shoes. I love that girl, then as a reward, I took her to Taco Bueno, ok, so Bueno was always in the plans, but still, we went, had good food and good conversation.

Friday, New Team and Elizabeth Anne
Yesterday was the first team meeting that I have attended with this new team, I have to tell you I was very pleasantly surprised. It was a great meeting, I know I was not looking forward to the team change; no one likes change, however after the meeting yesterday I am rethinking my well thoughts. First we took a personality test, which if you know me you can guess I love those! It was fun and informative to hear what everyone got on the test, where they fell in the personality ranges. My new supervisor seemed to be genuinely interested in everyone, fully engaged, and even inquired how each individual wished to be approached when she had things to discuss with them. All in all it was a great start to being on a new team, the hours are actually conducive to physical health and well being, and the team seems very well adjusted and functional. So yay!
Today is Friday, I do believe since I do not have to be at work so early I will pick up my Starbucks treat on Fridays. No, not the sugar and fat filled ones, the skinny versions will do nicely, however, and I believe we all need a treat. So treat myself I will.
My beautiful, intelligent daughter passed an exam yesterday that will help her further her career, I had no doubt she would do it. Elizabeth Anne, you are beautiful, intelligent, and funny and I am always proud to call you my daughter!
Ladies that Lunch and Taco Bueno
Saturday we had our ladies that lunch gathering, this time we met at Wanda’s house, what a great time we had. We had amazing food, great conversation and tons of laughter and a few poignant moments thrown in for good measure. Our number was rather small this time, but that did not stop us, we carried on as if there were 50 people in the room. Next month is our Christmas party, I am so looking forward to it, I want to see all the ones missing from last time there!
Yesterday was my first day working 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, I have to say I rather enjoyed it, I did have a few wake up issues, waking up twice before my real wake up time, however when I did get out of bed at the appropriate time, I felt well rested and wide awake. Although I was not happy about the hour-long lunch (I typically prefer 30 minutes) I felt it refreshed me to get away and just walk around Target for a bit. I truly believe I am going to enjoy this time frame, it seems a pleasant change from getting up at 3:00 am. I will let you know as the time goes on if I still enjoy it.
Nothing really to report, on Sunday I got to spend time with Elizabeth Anne, always a pleasant experience. We shopped and didn’t spend too much, had our favorite Taco Bueno, we are real BuenoHeads. Other than that a quiet weekend was had, I will try to be more exciting next time.
