Sleep

I am still so very tired, however it is Friday and that makes me so very happy. I am determined to sleep in tomorrow, untill at least 8am to even 9am, that would be just the most amazing thing ever.
The Irishman is getting better, which is good, hopefully he will gain some weight back soon. I never sy that about me, nor do I know anyone else who says that about themselves. Only him, he is still so very thin, I have to admit, I was very worried for a while.
I wish I could get a disease that makes me lose weight like that. It would be so amazing if that would happen. I would really love to be so thin people look at me and say “wow she needs to eat something!” That has never happened to me, I would so love for that to be said to me just once in my lifetime!
One good disease should do the trick, nothing huge, just an intestinal virus or something like it. So not fair that the skinny people get to be even skinnier.
Well it is that time folks, time for us to choose a new tour here at work. I chose something different for my first choice. I don’t know if I will et my first choice or not, however if I do, I shall be working Monday through Thursday 6am to 5pm. That will give me Friday, Saturday and Sunday off. A three-day weekend every week, not too shabby.
What that means is the Irishman and I will no longer have a day off together. which is fine, because even on our days off together we don’t spend it with each other. So it really doesn’t matter, he is very busy you see not doing things with me. So having a day off together is not that big a deal to him.
I am looking ahead to Christmas, three days off in a row would be great to get things done, like decorating, shopping and yes cooking. Christmas is the only time fo year I actually cook, I make cookies, dressing, a ham you know, nothing fancy as I cannot cook anything fancy.
I cannot wait to go home and go to sleep today, I am so tired. I need a good, uninterrupted nights sleep. I hope you all have a grand Friday, I may get a Starbucks on my lunch break.

Judgmental Dogs

This morning, as I was pouring my coffee, I overfilled the cup, like usual, and as I started to walk away some sloshed out (not an unusual occurrence), Chewie was standing there watching me. I turned to him and said I do believe there is something wrong with your mummy. Yes, I speak to him in a British accent, he is Siberian after all. He looked at me and I know he was thinking, why yes, yes there is. So judgmental for a dog, well, ok, not a dog, he is Chewie after all. I cleaned it up before he could, I do not need a hyper Chewie, well, he is a little hyper this morning, I did give him ham. Don’t judge me. I can see it in all of your eyes, this woman is not the crazy cat lady, she is the crazy dog lady.
I’m going to stop now, because even I can see I am making everyone’s point.
On Saturday nights I like to watch Star Trek, the original series, it comes on at 10pm here, I still love it. I think I like watching it then because it reminds me of home. when I was a teenager, Star Trek would come on at 11pm, on weeknights, well, during the school year I couldn’t watch it during the week. However, in the winter, if the next day was going to be a snow day, my parents would allow me to stay up to watch it. I always feel like that kid again on Saturday nights, staying up, watching Captain Kirk conquer the universe. And yes, I do realize how boring that makes me sound. I don’t care, it is what I do, if that makes me unbearably boring, well, so be it.
I am still enamored with my new coffeemaker, the Cuisinart one, I love hearing the grinding sound as it makes my coffee. The smell of the freshly ground coffee beans is intoxicating to say the least. I wish everyone had this coffeemaker! If you are a coffee lover the way I am, get this appliance! It is still on sale at Macy’s. Speaking of Macy’s, I bought some new dishes online on Friday, they were having their web sale and I have had my eye on these dishes for quite some time, and they were half price! I grabbed them, they should be here next week, I’ll let you know if I love them as much as the coffeemaker.
Well folks that is all I have for now, I need to get around, I have a stack of things that need to go to the GoodWill, and a ton of laundry to finish up. Oh yes, must take the Christmas tree down sometime. Stop looking at me like that!

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas everyone, I truly hope that this Christmas is filled with peace and love for everyone. Christmas Eve is the day that my children and I gather for our family Christmas, well, gathering. We eat, we laugh and we exchange presents. We have been doing this on Christmas Eve for a long time, it started a few years after the divorce, that way they could enjoy the presents they got at our house before going to their home with their dad on Christmas day. We didn’t have to rush Christmas morning, or Christmas dinner, we had it all the day before. It worked well for us as a whole, and I believe it continues to do so, much less pressure on the kids if they don’t feel they have to choose a parent on a holiday.
Alex was missing from last nights festivities, and I missed him an enormous amount, but he was doing something that is important to him, I cannot fault him for that.
I believe everyone had a good time yesterday, I know my children well enough to know if they did not they would let me know in a heartbeat. I hope everyone liked their presents, I know I did, I have the most thoughtful children on the face of the planet.
Elizabeth Anne gave me Wonder Woman socks! And Godiva coffee and new slipper boots and a new coat and Starbucks coffee and sour skittles and one of my favorite movies. Jeffrey gave me a gift card to Macy’s, after Christmas sale here I come! Tessa was so funny last night, she and Elizabeth together are a comedy duo! I was laughing so hard watching those two, it was hysterical, I wish I had captured it on video. At one point Tess tells Elizabeth, your mommy is crazy. She was talking about me. I was like What!, I said who is her mom? she said you. Tess is 4 by the way. That is her new thing, everyone is crazy, I have no idea where she got it, but it is funny as all get out. We colored in her new coloring book, played with her new My Little Ponies and her new Barbie RV. She is a funny little girl who is bright, articulate and intelligent, of course she belongs to us!
I hope everyone has a great Christmas, not only for the presents, but to take time to reflect on why we have Christmas. God’s son was born this day, a son that would grow up to give His life for our sins. It is hard to be as unselfish as that, however, I shall strive to be a little more understanding of the people in my life.

Holiday Happenings

The miracle that is a vacation week continues, I got my new boots yesterday, my incredible over the knee boots, and today is the first day of winter! How amazing is that! New boots in time for the first day of winter. Proof of Gods love of me just continues on.
Yesterday was an amazing day spent with Elizabeth Anne, shopping, Taco Bueno, and did I mention shopping.
Then watching Love Actually with the Irishman, I love that movie, I think all fo the actors did a fantastic job in their roles. And, please, don’t gag, but I love watching with the Irishman. I think it is an incredibly romantic, funny movie and I consider it “our” holiday movie. A must to watch together.
What are some of your favorite holiday movies that you watch with your significant other? And I say holiday because it could be a New Years movie as well. I have not take Christmas out of my season.
Bad news from yesterday, I took my car to have it looked at, Jeffrey and Jeff (ex-husband i.e. car genius) tells me it is the intake manifold and the gasket seals that need replacing and it will take them a couple of days to do it. So I am carless for till Saturday. That was my bad news, the good news is, it will be fixed by people I trust.
I hope everyone has a great Thursday!!

Friday Problems

It is finally upon us, Friday, let us all do the dance of joy, I know I am. After today just one and a half days of work! Then off till the following Tuesday, I only have one more person to buy presents for, Elizabeth Anne, and stocking stuffers, yes stocking stuffers. My grown children still expect stockings, and you know what, I still have a lot of fun doing them. So, continue to do them I will.
It has been raining here all week, the rain makes me so sleepy, so last night was an early to bed night, I slept very soundly, I love a rainy night. I know I stole that from Eddy Rabbit, you don’t have to tell me.
So far on my days off I have a dental appointment and a nail appointment, although I am thinking I may change my nail appointment to this weekend as my nails are getting way long, and typing the way I do all day this is not a good thing. Maybe if my occupation was Femme Fatale they would be the perfect length maybe even a little longer, however since I am an ordinary DSL technician for a major telecommunications corporation, they are a pain.
I am thinking I need a Christmas present for myself, I am in serious need of new pajama pants, and Old Navy is having their huge sale of $7.00 a pair and that is an excellent price. So this weekend that is a stop on my list, I also have new coupons for Bed, Bath and Beyond and one for Kohl’s, so those are on my list as well. I still have to make a grocery list, I am choosing to go grocery shopping when I am off, durring the week, hopefully it will be less crowded during the week than on a Saturday or Sunday.
Shopping with Elizabeth Anne again, to get her presents, since yes, I do need her help picking out her things. She is a tiny creature, size 0 that even some 0’s are too big. Before anyone gets on their high horse and says that is too skinny, this child eats, and is incredibly active, she is a farm girl after all, she takes after her dad’s side of the family, they are not big people, well the majority of them are not.
Ok, peeps, I have to go make myself beautimus for my co-workers, as you are getting dressed today remember the rest of us have to look at you, put some effort in people! I totally got that from an old Mervyn’s commercial. See ya in the funny papers!

Deep Thoughts

Well good morning everyone, I know it has been a while since we have visited, however I am still here. As you all know I live in North Texas, we are having incredibly strange weather, it is December and it is muggy, yes muggy, my hair is so curly it is ridiculous. I try and try to straighten it, but I just look like the wicked witch of the west. Ugh!
It is almost Christmas, almost time for my vacation, almost time to spend an evening with my amazing children. Almost, when it is almost time things seem go to in slow motion. At times I wish I were the Flash and could get everything done in an instant and the almost time would be gone and I would be at the good parts.
I am still reeling that someone who knows the little girl that went through so much found my blog and was able to give us all an update. I am still offering up thanks to God for her health, happiness and safety.
I love my mornings now, I awaken, watch an episode of Angel, have my coffee, ok, coffee is during Angel, then get dressed. I am loving it. TNT is playing the last season of Angel now, they are at the episode where Fred becomes a big blue meanie. I am loving it. I still miss Cordelia Chase, I identified with her character so much.
Angel is an interesting concept, redemption, we all want it, however can we earn it by doing good deeds? The bible teaches us that the only thing we have to do for redemption is to accept Jesus Christ as our lord and savior, accept that he is born of a virgin, died on the cross for our sins and rose from the grave three days later. I accept that. That is heavenly redemption. To gain redemption from our loved ones and those we have wronged here on earth is a different matter. That requires major hoop jumping, I don’t care if they seemingly accept your apology, one still has to show the wronged party they have changed and want to do better. It is a daunting task indeed and few are up to the challenge, but when one is, well it can be soul cleansing.
“Thank you for calling Angel Investigations, we help the hopeless”

Welcome Christmas!

No Black Friday shopping for me, work it is, and work I will gladly do! I have my giant container of iced coffee I brought from home, my Greek yogurt and my seaweed; I am ready to conquer the world of tech support, one call at a time!
I hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving, celebrating in whatever way you chose, whether it was with family or in solitude. I have to be honest, I prefer solitude, since my children spend every Thanksgiving with their dad’s side of the family, I seriously have no desire to celebrate. I know you must be wondering why they spend every Thanksgiving with him, well, let me tell you. It was an agreement we made a long time ago. His whole family gets together at Thanksgiving and celebrates that day and Christmas and even some birthdays. I didn’t want my children to miss out on that experience. So, he got Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve was and remains mine. An arrangement we still honor today even though the children are now adults.
Sometimes I miss Thanksgiving, but it is more of a missing my mom and dad and the Thanksgivings I had with them and my family. The fun that was had just two miles north of Owasso was total greatness, and I cherish all of my memories.
Work again today, then it seems like I had something to do this weekend, oh yeah, massive cleaning and getting the place ready to drag out all of my Christmas decorations. I can’t wait to buy the tree, make cookies, see if I can find sugar free hot cocoa, maybe splurge in the real thing, haven’t decided yet. I love Christmas! Happy start to the most wonderful season on earth!

Holiday Plans and Christmas Love

I am very excited for the upcoming Christmas season, I love everything about it, the music, the decorations, the lights, the sounds, the buying presents for everyone I love. That is really the best part, picking out the perfect present knowing they will love it, and if they don’t saving the receipt so they can get something they do love. It does not hurt my feelings if someone wants to take back a present I have bought. I would rather they get something they want and will use and enjoy. Although I must say I do pretty well in the gift giving department. I rarely miss when picking something out for someone. I love the colors of the season, the movies, the food, ah the food, my nemesis. What to do this season, well, I shall plan and if I falter I will not beat myself up for it, just get right back on the wagon.
The clothes of the season, here, in North Texas, I have the promise of wearing sweaters and boots and jackets, such heady thoughts. Big hint for any of my children reading this, I have worn out my black leather gloves, would love another pair!
Must go get ready to start my great day at work, I know it is going to be fantastic! I hope everyone has a fantastic day and has fun getting ready for their Thanksgiving day!

Monday Update

Ok folks I have been entrusted with a heady responsibility, I am planning the December Ladies that Lunch outing, and since it is our Christmas gathering, well you can imagine the pressure. My dear friend Wanda had a spill and is not up to planning the event so she entrusted it to me. I cannot begin to tell you how thrilled I was that she asked. It will be so much fun, I admit Wanda made it easy, she gave me all the contacts and actually the place, and it looks fabulous! I do hope we have a good turnout, I am very excited about it.
This Monday was really good, cold, wet weather, Ralph Lauren skirt, boots and my black, leather Anne Klein jacket. I am in heaven, I tell you! I can only hope it gets colder.
This week is short for most, as for me I am working Thanksgiving and the day after, I always do this, I will be working 7am to 4pm, those two days. I am thankful I get to work those two days to give my family a good Christmas. I am thankful for the ability to work, I am thankful to live in a nice area of town in a nice apartment, I am thankful for all of the things my job affords me.
I will be getting my tree the weekend after Thanksgiving, I have to get the place ready for a tree, I always get a real one, this year will be no different. This year I get to add two Santa’s that belonged to Sandi to my decorations. I am so happy to have part of her with me this Christmas season.
So on that note my friends I will let you all get back to your lives. Peace out homies!

Another Gateway Day

Ok, so, I am totally in love with my new hairstylist, she just rocks, her name is Beatrice and if you are in the Plano area and looking for someone new, let me know. I will give you her information. She listens to what I want and makes it happen, just incredible, I am in love.
I got my hair done last night that is why I am waxing on today regarding Beatrice’s brilliance. Today is Thursday the gateway to Friday, I know you have all heard me say it before; well it bears saying again, and again and again. How bout them apples? Well I ordered a few Christmas presents before I left for work this morning, no I will not be telling for who, oh alright, 3 guesses. If you get them correct I will answer in the comments section.
I don’t think I have anything exciting to do this upcoming weekend, which will be a nice change, perhaps it is time for a well needed much earned pajama day! Now that would be exciting, watching old episodes of Buffy, Angel, Dollhouse and Firefly, now that is a Saturday in the making. Maybe popcorn is in order and diet coke; stop me now before I just pass out from the thought.
Next week is Thanksgiving, I will be writing a special, what I am grateful for entry for next week, I know you are all looking forward to that. I really have nothing today, except my hair looks amazing!
