Just Say No to Rielle Hunter

Rielle Hunter makes me physically ill, here is a woman that had an affair with a married man, who told her that she was not the only one, and his wife is dying of cancer. So, what does she do, takes her pants off, yes, that is kind of come on we all dream of. Um, no, no it isn’t, she has a new book out that details their “love” affair, including slamming his wife, might I add his dead wife, and proclaiming theirs a great love affair. Aren’t we all glad that John Kerry didn’t win the presidential election? If so, then this horrible man, along with his mistress, would have been number two. Number two is a good analogy for what they really are. I know enough press has been given to her, however, I had to get that out of my system as she was on the View this week and of course I watched. Love that Barbara Walters called her on the carpet for lying in the book regarding something that happened between the two of them. She didn’t back down either, love her, she is a little crazy in her golden years, but deservedly so. Please no one buy this insidiously evil woman’s book, let’s pay homage instead to Elizabeth Edwards, a woman who was always full of grace, kindness and courage. She is the only one that deserves any kind of recognition in this whole mess, I feel bad for her children to have to continually be slapped in the face with the reminder of how their father treated their dying mother.
Enough about that, yesterday was my day off, I had a spa morning, it was lovely, then took care of my youngest son. He had been in the heat the day before and had become dehydrated and had a touch of heat exhaustion. I pumped him full of gator ade and made sure he was drinking plenty of water. He called later to say the gator ade had actually done the trick, we talked of electrolytes and potassium, and staying hydrated in this weather. I hate the heat, I hate the 100+ searing heat that takes everything you have and stomps on you. There I am done ranting about something I cannot control.
Had a lovely dinner with the Irishman at our new favorite place, MsSwiggans, every time I say the name I think of Duck Tales. I don’t know why, but I do, I think there probably would have been a McSwiggans in Duckberg.
Working two days then the weekend, I am going to sleep in on Saturday and Sunday, it will be good. I hope everyone stays cool today and stays hydrated!

Buffy, Coffee and Stuff

I’m sitting here drinking my coffee, watching Buffy, and contemplating my week, trying also to wake up. Sunday nights/Monday mornings are always a little tough, I go to sleep too late and have to wake up way too early. It is made better with my coffee, I did come to the conclusion the Irishman was correct, it was the brand of coffee that was making my stomach hurt so bad.
I don’t know what I would have done if it were actually coffee hurting me, that would have been a calamity of epic proportions. Can you imagine me with no coffee? Me either, without coffee is there even a me? Heady question for such an early morning.
This weekend was full, well Friday night and Saturday were, it was spent with Tessa, se is absolutely amazing. She was waiting for me when I got home on Friday, when we came inside she said Gigi, I miss Chewie, I said yeah me too. She looked at me and said I don’t think you should get another dog Gigi, you’re not ready. Wow, out of the mouths of babes. She is right of course, I don’t think I will ever be ready for another dog, Chewie was a once in a lifetime kind of companion, I feel honored to have gotten to be part of his life.
Saturday was filled with green pancakes and swimming, so much fun playing in the pool with Tess, she makes me young. After her dad, Jeffrey, came and picked her up, I collapsed in a heap of sheer exhaustion. There is a reason I had my children in my youth, I had energy, I took an incredible nap and then did nothing.
Sunday was spent doing nothing as well, I did a lot of nothing this weekend, and I am not afraid to admit it.
I do want to say watching the verdict being announced in the Sandusky case evoked emotions of relief for the victims of this horrendous man. Throughout the trial he seemed at times smug and others jovial, always a smile on his face. A smile. He devastated young boys lives, and he sat there smiling, his wife saying oh that never happened. I never heard anything. Didn’t she think it odd that he went into the basement with young boys? I would have. I hope the victims of this monster can rest a little easier at night knowing that their bravery helped stop his actions. They have saved future boys from this monsters hands, I pray for their peace of mind.
On a lighter note, I have a slight sunburn, I slathered myself in Hawaiian Tropic oil to try and get some color onto my incredibly white skin. I think the burn will turn brown, then I wont be so pale, would be nice if I had some color for summer.

5 Hour Fights and Dallas

Yesterday was my day off and I did nothing, yes, nothing, well a few loads of laundry, but really, I did nothing. And it was good. I did manage to watch a documentary on Ronald Reagan, they showed the moment when Nancy Reagan said goodbye to him. It still breaks my heart and I sob like a big fat baby, watching her heartbreak. Saying goodbye to a man she had loved so passionately for so long, just sad.
My stomach hurt yesterday, I think I am getting what the Irishman had, finally, I want to lose 20 pounds in two weeks. Keep your fingers crossed for me! So not fair that a person who does not need to lose weight got that particular illness. I don’t know why good things can’t happen to me.
Sunday night was another new episode of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, an explosive episode, the show down between Jacqueline and Teresa. I fully believe both women are wrong at that juncture, I know Jacqueline was concerned for Teresa, seeing all of the tabloid reports, however, you can’t expect your friends to tell you every detail of their lives. Now, on the other hand, seeing the tabloid, Teresa is going to jail, perhaps Teresa should have told Jacqueline, if things were really that bad I would have told you. Absolutely. It obviously is fine if Teresa is doing so much construction to her home, adding carports and garage apartments, not something that is cheap. Even if your husband does that for a living, you still have major expenses. I do not believe she doesn’t have control over the covers that she gets paid for; the tabloids are a different story. Those print whatever they want, they don’t care and they only pay informants. So both women in the wrong, seriously a 5 hour argument??? No way I would have sat there for that beating; I would have been done with that in 5 minutes.
Dallas was last night, I am seriously loving this evolution of the show, I love that they kept the theme, updating it of course, but the same sweeping tones, showing scenes of the city I love so much. The pure evilness of JR, just wow, Larry Hagman has not lost a bit of his timing. The younger actors could take more than a few lessons from him, he is pure greatness. One can tell he simply delights in playing this character, it comes across in his delivery, his expressions, everything. Love it, will continue to watch it.
So the Irishman has a new schedule that he begins next week, he will be working Friday through Monday, the only day off we will have together is Wednesday. With the new schedule, this week he works 6 straight days. So we had no day off together, we used to have Sundays, but this Sunday he will be at work, did I mention the hours, 11:00 am to 9:30 pm. It really is as if we are having a long distance relationship and we live together.

Word of the Day and Date Night

Last night was date night with the Irishman, something we have not done in a while, due to him being ill and, well, just busy with life. We will not let it go so long till our next date night. I enjoyed it immensely, we went to the movies and saw, are you ready for it, The Avengers. I had to come clean with him and tell him I had actually seen it three times before last night. I am clocking my fourth time to see the amazing Joss Whedon Avengers movie. I loved sharing it with the Irishman the best, watching him discover what I have known forever, that Joss Whedon is brilliance personified. He has said we need to see it again, a heartfelt I agree was issued from myself.

Today is my day off, I will be doing laundry, staying in my pajamas for a long time, then lunch with Alex. A good day off indeed, if only I did not have to do laundry, which I do, it has become a necessity.

On an alturistic note, the Irishman received an email from St Baldricks last night stating they had raised 28.4 million dollars so far this year. I am so proud of him for being part of this amazing organization. Raising money for research to cure cancers that infect children, with their main fundraisers being people who raise money and shave their heads. That is truly incredible, if you have to choose a charity to support I urge you to look into this one and choose it!

Now brings me to a new bit in the blog called word of the day, my friend Kissa said I should incorporate this into my blog. So, folks here is the word of the day: discombobulated: confused, scattered in thought. used in a sentence: Yesterday at work I was completely discombobulated all day due to lack of sleep.

There you have it folks, another great day in the works, I hope you all have a fantastic day.

Here’s to a Good Day

I think I need a weekend to rest up from my weekend, I am so tired, I had to watch Real Housewives of New Jersey last night, so it was a late night for me. I didn’t watch the last hour of the series finale of Desperate Housewives because I could not wait to watch RHONJ, I don’t know what is happening to me. It was a wild ride last night, Teresa is in denial, her brother is frustrated, and oh yes, Teresa’s husband is a donkey. He is aggravating the situation between brother and sister. He doesn’t want them to reconcile, you can see how he is enjoying this friction. I feel bad for Teresa and Joey, it is sad to watch, however, watch I do.

A full week is ahead of me, although for my day off in the middle of the week, I do believe I have nothing, I do believe I will be able to just be in the apartment and catch up on laundry and my dvr. What a thought, what freedom, oh perhaps a morning workout, by morning I do mean 10 or 11. I cannot work out early in the morning. It’s too much, my old heart can’t take it, I have to wake up slowly, have my pot of coffee, then workout.

I am looking forward to an easy weekend, well, maybe not easy, the Irishman has his children, which means his girls are with me on Saturday. Perhaps I will contact Tessa’s mother and see if she can spend the night Friday night and see the girls. She loves being with them so much and they are very kind to her, indulging her in what she wants to do. Maybe it is a pool kind of Saturday that is a thought, I’ll tell her mom to pack her swimsuit. The Irishman’s girls already have new suits, so they are ready to go, that is it, that is what I will do. Whew, there weekend planned, well Saturday, after that I don’t have to plan, Sunday the Irishman is off work, so he spends the day with his children, I have the day off.

I have several books I want to read, some movies I would like to see, the possibilities are endless, I’ll figure it out. Here is to a good week for all of us, I hope everyone has a Starbucks kind of week.

Going Incognito

So last night was Rachel’s birthday party, I must say I was looking forward to celebrating the occasion, as Rachel is fast becoming one of my favorite people. I was not disappointed, it was so much fun. It was supposed to be an outdoor party and it was for about 45 minutes, then the rain started to come in. So inside we all went, the food was great, the alcohol in abundance and the company was amazing. I got to meet new people, and see some people I have not seen in a while and had great conversations with all. The music was a single young man that was just fantastic, he played so many great songs, just him and his guitar, he did such an amazing job.

Everyone looked good, the birthday girl especially in her electric blue dress, Calvin Klein if I am not mistaken. I want to thank Rachel for including us on the guest list, it was a great time!

These are friends of the Irishman, I told him last night if we ever break up, I get them in the settlement agreement. He said he is not giving them the choice of going with me because he knows they would pick me. No worries, he doesn’t have to make that decision for them as we are not breaking up, I would still steal them from him though.

Today is full on pot of coffee day, along with tons of moisturizer and no makeup today, no one would be able to recognize me. I am going incognito, I hope you all have a great incognito day!

Monday’s Report

I have determined that I was born on the wrong planet, I should have been born on Asgard, I am positive I would have been a female warrior. Complete with leather pants and a sword, what a thought. Perhaps next time, one can only wish upon a star. I know I am going on and on about The Avengers movie, but it is worth all of the superlative words I have at my disposal. If Disney doesn’t option Joss Whedon for the next Avengers movie they are, well, major idiots.

This weekend was filled with shopping, first off Friday I met my friend Rachel at the Galleria, which as we all know is my mother ship. I actually helped her spend money, she chose some gorgeous dresses, I can’t wait to see what she is going to wear to her party. Her birthday party is this coming Friday, very excited to celebrate her birthday.

Saturday was not a shopping day, it was a cleaning like a dervish day and well, yes I did take the Irishman’s girls to get new swimsuits, so I guess I did shop on Saturday. They played outside while I cleaned, and then after shopping it was pizza and movie night.

Sunday; which is the Irishman’s day off, I left him with his girls and went, oh yes, shopping, this time at Stonebriar. I wandered aimlessly, well, not so aimlessly, I was on the hunt for a jumpsuit, I tried one on at BCBG in the Galleria, and wow, I looked amazing. However, I am not in the mood to spend $248.00 on one. I did find one at Macy’s but I didn’t like the color. So Wednesday I will search some more, I am determined to wear one to the party this coming Friday.

Wednesday is my day off, am seriously thinking of see The Avengers again, I will be going this coming Sunday with the Irishman. But I have an urge to see it again, and again and again. Joss Whedon has taken characters that should never be together and has woven an intricate, complex, fun-filled ride.

Happy Happy Monday People! I hope it is a great one for you all!

My Geek Marathon Experience

I know yesterday I posted my review of the Avengers movie, today I am going to tell you all of my experience at the movies.

It was a 14 hour marathon of all of the Avenger movies, first up Ironman I moving onto Edward Norton’s Hulk, then Ironman II, Thor, Captain America, culminating with The Avengers. The Irishman was supposed to go with me, but as you all know he has been ill, so I went alone. I could find no one to share the experience with me as it was short notice and it is hard to give up 14 hours of your day to sit in a movie theater.

I was a little nervous about going, I thought the theater would be filled with fanboys, was I ever wrong. It was such a good cross section of people, young, medium and old, there was a grand daughter who had brought her grandmother to the marathon. The girl was about Elizabeth Anne’s age, the grandmother had to be late 60’s early 70’s. She had been reading Captain America since she was a young girl, the granddaughter wanted to share the experience with her grandmother. It was incredibly sweet to see her taking care of her and making sure she enjoyed the experience. There were mothers and daughters and fathers and sons, there were women my age and of course men of all ages.

The crowd was eager, exuberant at times and always respectful, there was never any fear that someone was going to take an empty seat once you got up to use the facilities or get a refill on snacks. There also seemed to be a good combination of Marvel fans and Whedon fans, I saw Darkhorse t-shirts and Marvel t-shirts. When Joss Whedon’s name flashed on the screen the crowd went crazy, it was amazing, I still get goosebumps thinking about it. We did have about 30 minutes between movies to stretch, use the facilities and refill snacks, that was good, sitting for that long would have been incredibly difficult! One really didn’t want to miss any of the movies, even though everyone that was there had seen them about a gazillion times. I know I have, I will be going back to see the Avengers with the Irishman, he wants to see it (of course) and I want to see it with him. Just to let you all know I will go with anyone who wants me to go with them. Just let me know.

I loved the experience, I wish I could have shared it with the Irishman, he was the only thing missing. I know we would have had a blast there together, just a side note, he is doing better and was able to go to work yesterday.

Last Book Review and Other Stuff

Well I finished the third book in the Hunger Games trilogy, and while I liked them, I stand by my statement of yesterday, they were written with 14 year old girls in mind. The marketing was brilliant, first the middle school girls, then their mothers then the rest of the world followed. Even I capitulated, I am not sorry I did, I do not consider it an effort in futility. The books were good, the first one juvenile in nature, was to draw the reader into the world of the inhabitants of this world, and it did, the second and third were written at a higher reading level. I enjoyed the ending very much, it ended exactly the way I wanted it to, that is all I will say.
I am fighting some sort of sinus thing, I do believe the honey I have been ingesting has helped stave it off because by now I usually have a full-blown sinus infection and this is just a little sinus congestion and drainage. I will be taking meds tonight so the drainage will be less, I am going to Zumba today, not going to let a little sniffle get in my way. I will probably sweat whatever I have out.
The Irishman is not feeling well, don’t really know what is wrong, hopefully he will get better if he does exactly what I say and eat everything I make him and take the medicines I am forcing down him. Wish me luck, nothing like dealing with a stubborn sick man to get the creative care juices flowing. In the beginning he would blindly take whatever I gave him, however I do believe he has begun to realize any medicine that will truly make you better tastes horrible, so now he asks, what is that. Wish me luck!
Today is going to be a great day, I can feel it, so off I go to get ready for it! Peace, love and gossip…..

A Good Weekend

Good Morning and happy Easter everyone, I also want to say happy Passover. This weekend has been a very full one, it started Thursday night with Tessa coming to spend a few days with her Gigi. Friday was a girl filled day, first up pink pancakes for breakfast, then a walk and playing on her beloved rocks. Elizabeth Anne came and we took Tess to our favorite place on earth, yes, Taco Bueno. Then it was off to Build a Bear where she picked out a rabbit and named her Daisy. No day is complete without a trip to Costco and Target!
Then that evening, the Irishman’s girls came and Tess was beyond elated, I let them stay up late playing chase in the moonlight, then eating goldfish crackers and watching Hop. Saturday morning started with blue pancakes and playing outside, the rocks beckoned and they played for hours. Their girlish giggles filled the air and neighbors brought their children out to play with them.
After Tess went home it was grocery shopping then lunch and Hop again, this time with movie popcorn and juice boxes.
I hope they had a good time, in between I managed to read two books and get laundry done. Very productive.
I have something shameful to admit, I have given into peer pressure and have read the first two books in the Hunger Games series. I should have bought the third at the grocery store yesterday, I started the first book on Friday and by Saturday night had finished the second one, now I am in need of the third one. They are quick reads as they are written for the average 13 year old, so fifth grade level, but I am going to tell you, wow, I am impressed and I like them. The premise is interesting, I am guessing the author is a fan of Logan’s Run, as it is similar to the concept of that movie. I did not find it disturbing that they had children killing children as middle school is a dog eat dog world in itself. I will be getting the third book today, I hope a store is open so I can get it!
I am going to see my beautiful Elizabeth Anne in Bonham for Easter, leaving the Irishman to celebrate with his children, I am taking care of their Easter dinner for them, he doesn’t cook, then off I go. So excited, I have never been to Sherman and that is where we will be having Easter lunch.
I hope everyone has a fantastic day, that if you have taught your children about the Easter bunny he comes to visit, and that everyone remember why we really have Easter. He is risen.
